Youth Alpha

Youth Alpha is designed to help teenagers find out who Jesus really is and how the Christian faith and real life fit together. It's an informal version of the Alpha course using the same topics but there are no DVDs - the talks are presented LIVE (all transcripts are provided!).

Each session includes:

• games
• video
• music
• stories tailored for young people

The course runs over seven or ten weeks, plus a weekend or day away in the middle. Youth Alpha shares the same important elements as any Alpha course -- food, fun, a talk, and small groups.

Youth Alpha is being used in many countries across the world, from New Zealand to Sweden; from Iceland to the USA. It has been used successfully in big churches with flourishing youth ministries and also by individuals who have run it in their homes for a few teenagers. 

Who is it for?
Youth Alpha is designed for young people aged 11 to 18. It is aimed at tweenagers & teenagers who would not call themselves Christians, but also works as a refresher course or confirmation course for church or school groups.

The course has been run in schools, community centres, church youth groups, youth clubs, and young offenders institutions. It is suitable for nearly any gathering of young people.

What resources do I need to get started?

The Youth Alpha Leaders' Guide & Curriculum (2010 edition) : These 2 books contain everything you need to know for each session of the course with sections on strategy, practical skills, and planning and preparation... as well as some tips on different aspects of youth ministry from youth leaders around the world. 3. Youth Manuals (Ages 11-14) or (Ages 14-18)
The "magazine-style" manuals have been designed to appeal to a diverse youth audience and contain the main content of the Alpha course. There are two different versions -- one designed for ages 11-14 (red manual), and the other for ages 15-18 (blue manual). Either manual can be used according to the needs of your group.
