Our Alpha guests are excited about inviting their friends and family to the next Alpha course! How can I help them do this?
It is exciting to hear that guests want to invite their loved ones on the next course. I think it’s important that the potential guests understand what Alpha is about. The atmosphere is one of openness and is conducive to building relationships. There is no homework AND there is good food that is warmly served each night! If a current guest is asking his/her friend or relative to attend, it’s generally easiest if the current guest attends as well. Sometimes this is a good way to select new helpers for the next Alpha course! (submitted by Roxana, Canadian Prison Alpha Associate)
Here are my top tips:
1.Tell guests that it’s an invitation to “come check it out” not a commitment to attend the whole course. This is a less intimidating approach.
2. We are not responsible for the “yes” – only for the invitation. Our responsibility is to invite others to Alpha and the Holy Spirit does the rest. Pray for courage and invite!

If your Alpha guests have had a positive experience taking the course and are recommending it to their friends and family, you’ve already done a great job! Here are some other ideas to inspire your guests even further:
1/ Give them Alpha promo to pass on: Make it easy for your guests to invite others by downloading and customizing Alpha posters, postcards & business cards (free online!): CLICK HERE
2/ Tell them the 6 Secrets: Well they’re not secrets anymore but these reminders can help build your guests’ confidence about inviting other people to the next Alpha course: CLICK HERE
3/ Pray for (and with!) your guests: You prayed that they wouldn’t quit after Week 1 and they stayed, and you prayed that Jesus would become real to them in a fresh way and here they are, excited to invite others to Alpha. Now pray that your soon-to-be Alpha grads will bring a friend on the next Alpha course, and maybe even be part of the Alpha team next term! (submitted by Debbie, Alpha office, Field Services)
