The SLC is for any Grade 10 student who is willing to learn, grow, and take a step of courage. We believe God can use you to make an impact in your friends’ lives, your school, your community, and—together with your church—in Canada.

The structure is intentional but sustainable.The cost is $275 for each student. Thanks to generous donors, most of the cost is already covered. If finances are a challenge, we have a sponsorship program that is open alongside applications—we’re committed that money will never be a barrier to joining. There is no cost for mentors.
Yes. All expenses for the In-Person Gathering, including travel, lodging, and meals, are covered in the student fee.
Students are trained and supported to run Alpha in their schools through relational invitation.

Yes. Just like Jesus sent his disciples in pairs, we want you to experience the SLC alongside someone from your community. If you’re unsure who, ask your youth leader or mentor to help you prayerfully consider who else to invite.
Applications open October 1, 2026 and close October 19, 2026. Make sure you and your friend have submitted your applications, and your mentor has filled out their form.
Students complete SLC equipped to contribute meaningfully to both youth ministry and school-based mission.
You’ll walk alongside your students in an intentional way, investing in their faith and leadership while also being encouraged by other mentors across Canada. The commitment is light (around 3 hours per month), but the impact on your students—and your mentoring relationship—is significant.
You’ll embark on a leadership journey uniquely designed for you over the coming months. Along the way, you’ll have intentional moments to connect with your students and invest in those relationships. Additionally, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to engage with other leaders from across the country.
Through trios, pods, online sessions, and the national gathering, students grow as resilient disciples. They’ll be challenged, encouraged, and activated to live out their faith with courage in their everyday environments.
Yes—your presence matters. As a mentor, your role is to walk with your students as they live out what they’re learning. Whether you’re a youth worker, church leader, or volunteer, your encouragement and guidance make a lasting impact.
From January–June, expect around 3–4 hours per month. This includes your trio rhythm, monthly pod gatherings, and national online sessions, plus the in-person gathering in March.
